Angus Citizens Advice Bureau serves all the residents of Angus from it’s offices in Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose.
Here at Angus CAB we provide free, confidential and independent advice to everyone who needs it.
As a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, we have two aims:
- to help people understand their rights and responsibilities and to help them take action to solve their problems
- to work locally and nationally to change policies and practices that are the root cause of problems, preventing issues arising at source
Translated EEA National Factsheets
In late 2015, the Angus Social Policy Team identified that EEA nationals lacked information in their own language, making it difficult for them to understand their rights and obligations whilst living in the UK. Therefore, the Social Policy Team approached Dundee & Angus College and enquired whether it would be possible to have information factsheets translated into different languages to make them accessible to EEA nationals.
It was agreed that students who were studying English as a second language help with the translation as part of a project as it assisted with their development of learning English.
We now have 4 factsheets on EEA nationals and claiming benefits in the UK translated into Russian, Polish, Italian & English. Many thanks to Dundee and Angus College students for their help in making this happen!
Please contact us if you require copies of the factsheet or would like a copy sent to you.
